Cheap Archtop Guitar with a Great Pickup?I’m a fingerstyle jazz, blues, and rock gaiutrist and I am starting to get into archtop guitars, but wondered I don’t want to spend $2,000 just to see if this is the style of guitar I want to play. I loved playing an Eastman I saw recently but it was a LOT of money however, a bunch of different folks in the store immediately asked where I would be gigging it seemed the right sound. Wondered if I get a cheap Harmony archtop and add something like a high-end Benedetto pickup would it sound great or would it be too much of a compromise? What are your thoughts on the pickup vs the guitar materials in an archtop. Thanks for any thoughts.
