Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet
Learn About The Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet In This Gear Review!
Overview
The Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet is a really cool guitar. It is chambered and it comes with mini humbuckers. These two features give this guitar a pretty unique sound. The Bigsby tremolo is also a feature that gives this guitar it’s own special vibe.
If you have been thinking about adding the Gretsch sound to your arsenal this is a great, economical option for you guys. The mahogany body and maple top give this guitar a very balanced sound that you can use in a lot of different styles of music.

$599.99 Not a bad price for a guitar with so many cool features.
Sound Quality - 8/10
The Pro Jet is great for every thing up to hard rock, wouldn’t play metal on it though. I really like the way that this thick sounding guitar cuts through the mix. All of the features on this guitar combine to give you a fairly even sound. Kind of in between a Tele and a Les Paul.
The fretboard radius on the Pro Jet makes it play like a Fender but the body is more reminiscent of a Les Paul. Cool combination.
I have found that the intonation on the A string is consistently off even after adjusting. This is the only really problem I have found with this guitar. Not cool.
Build Quality - 7.5/10
Everything on this guitar is pretty good, not super fantastic but pretty dang good. This guitar is super cool but it’s made in China so you kind of get what you pay for. The finish looks great and the wood is pretty nice.

Two pickups and a three way toggle switch. Easy! Bisgby can be difficult to change strings on if you have never done it before.
Pros
• Sweet thick tone that cuts through the mix for only $599.99
• Lots of style
• Bigsby gives you a retro look and still sounds great
Cons
• Not the best intonation in the world
• Strings can be tricky to change if you are not used to a Bigsby
Overall Rating - 8.5/10
I like the tone, vibe and feel of this guitar. If you are looking for a nice chambered sound with a Bigsby tremolo this guitar is something that you might want to look at. If you are looking for a shredder guitar this isn’t for you.
If you dig the features on this guitar, make sure to check out the intonation all the way up the fretboard before you buy. Hopefully they will fix this problem with this guitar or maybe it is just isolated to the latest run.
