THD 2×12 Extension Cab
Learn About The THD 2×12 Extension Cab In This Gear Review!
Overview
The THD 2×12 cab is pretty revolutionary in my opinion. You get a lightweight cab that sounds just as full as a lot of 4×12 cabinets that I have heard. A ported back and custom THD speakers pump out a lot of low end while retaining all of the high end that you need for definition.

I love the way this cab sounds There is a lot of low end in this cab but it doesn’t get muddy when you crank it up. Usually when a cab has nice low end like this you end up sacrificing some glassy qualities of the high end. Not with this cab, it is pretty even from top to bottom. I like a lot of different styles of music and this cab is great for them all. It is very easy to carry around and you don’t have to sacrifice any tone.

No complaints about the build quality. I especially like the metal handles. It’s nice to know that you won’t have to replace cheap cracked plastic handles in several years.

The THD is just as easy to use as any other cab but it is surprisingly light with out sacrificing a bit of tone. I would much rather carry this cab around than just about any other 4×12 cab.
Pros
• Pleasantly light
• Incredible sound
• Great low end while still retaining nice glassy high end
• Ported back design makes it versatile and gives you lots of options for mic placement
Cons
• Just a touch pricy
Overall Rating - 8.5/10
If you want a huge sounding cab that it not a pain to carry around then the THD 2×12 is a great option for you. It is a little pricy but you get what you pay for. I would actually even pay a little more for this cab because the tone is great and I hate carrying heavy gear around.
