Egnater Rebel 30 Combo
Learn About The Egnater Rebel 30 In This Gear Review!
Overview
I personally hate carrying heavy gear around, but I really like a big sounding amp that is capable of producing a wide variety of clean and distorted tones. The Egnater Rebel 30 1×12 combo is a fairly light and small amp that delivers huge sound. This amp has a ton of unique features that work together to deliver an impressive amount of interesting and diverse tones.
The Rebel 30 is an all tube amp that features a power section that lets you choose between two EL84’s or two 6V6’s. You can even blend the two types of power tubes together via the “Tube Mix” knob for even more unique tones! The variable wattage knobs let you adjust the individual power output of each channel from 1 watt all the way to 30 watts. This is great because it allows you to control the break-up point of the amp. The pre-amp section uses five 12AX7 tubes and is super-tweakable.

I think that that $899 is a pretty incredible price for an all tube amp that as many great tones and features as the Rebel 30. I would normally expect to play at least 50% more for an amp like this.
Sound Quality - 9/10
It is pretty uncommon for an amp to do both clean and overdriven tones very well. I think that the Rebel 30 really delivers in this area. I can use the clean channel for some nice country, jazz or blues and then switch to overdrive channel to dial in some wicked lead and metal tones. Of course tone preference is a very subjective thing. Some people may not dig the overall tone of this amp but I sure do.
Build Quality - 9/10
My experience with this amp has been very pleasant. I used it for eight hours per day during a filming session that lasted an entire week. I had no problems with it. I have heard that some of the parts are a bit sketchy because they are made in China. I have yet to experience any quality issues though.
