Taylor 110 Acoustic Guitar

Learn About TheTaylor 110 Acoustic Guitar In This Gear Review!

Overview

The 110 is Taylor’s entry-level acoustic but don’t let that make you think it doesn’t sound and play great. This guitar stands up to some of the more expensive Taylor models but leaves you with enough money left over to go grab something to eat if you buy it. The 110 has a solid Sitka Spruce top complimented by laminated Sapele back and sides. If you have never heard of Sapele before it is similar to Mahogany in look and tone.

Check this guitar out if you want to skip the frills and spend your money a brighter, dynamic guitar with a great tone and feel.

Price   -   8/10

$599.00 Solid top guitar, made in Mexico and comes with a nice gig bag too.

Sound Quality   -   8/10

Bright but balanced describes this guitar well. If you like brighter, more modern sounding guitars you will dig the 110. If you like a more traditional sounding guitar with a lot of bass, you might be turned off by the Taylor 110.

Build Quality   -   8.5/10

Taylor guitars are known for being pretty high tech as far as construction goes.  The 110 models are made in Mexico now but that doesn’t seem to have had much of an effect on the quality of this guitar. Set-up was great out of the box and I did not notice any defects or flaws.

Overall Rating   -   8.5/10

This entry-level Taylor guitar sounds pretty dang great for only $599.00 It is very responsive and quite honestly it sounds just as good as some of their more expensive models. There are no frills but the quality is right on target. Taylor guitars are know to be a bit brighter and the 110 is no exception.

If you are looking for a brighter mid-priced, solid top acoustic guitar that still has some low end, this is my pick. If you are looking for something a little more cosmetically pleasing or something with a ton of bass, you might want to pass.
