Overview
TC Electronic is known for their high quality products and lush guitar effects. When I found out that they were coming out with a pedal tuner I was very excited. I have owned, or at least used, just about every pedal tuner on the market, so I wanted to see what special features TC Electronic would come up with in answer to legendary tuner pedals like the Boss TU-2.
The PolyTune is a great quality pedal tuner but it doesn’t stop there. The “PolyTune” mode lets you strum all of the strings at once to quickly see which strings are in or out of tune. Very handy for playing live and very cool! In this gear review we will look at the features, pros, cons, and an overall rating for the PolyTune pedal tuner.
Price - 9/10
TC Electronic gear can be kind of pricy, so I was expecting the PolyTune to be over $100. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that it was only $99.99. That’s a pretty standard price for a great pedal tuner.
Build Quality - 10/10
The build quality of TC Electronic gear, in general, is usually very good. The PolyTune is no exception, but there are some things about it that were unexpected and very refreshing. First of all it is very light. When I took the Poly Tune out of the box it was so light that I though “oh it must not come with a battery’, but I was wrong. I looked inside, took the battery out, and was amazed at how light the pedal was. The PolyTone is relatively small for a pedal tuner too.
No one likes to lug around a heavy pedalboard, and no one likes to have one pedal that takes up tons of space on their pedal layout. The PolyTune is great for keeping your pedalboard weight down and it doesn’t take up much space either.

I expected to be very impressed with this tuner pedal and the PolyTune did not disappoint. TC Electronic delivers an accurate, high-tech, reasonably priced pedal tuner in a light-weight package.
I was a little disappointed that the PolyTune did not have a bypass output because I use that feature a lot when I record. That was pretty much the only negative thing that I could find with this little guy.
