The Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer is one of those pedals to which all other pedals in its category are compared. It’s not a distortion pedal so don’t be surprised if you can’t get that super heavy metal tone out of it. If you are looking for the standard in overdrive pedals this is it.
This pedal is great to leave on all the time for a more pushed clean sound. You can also crank it to get some pretty chunky rhythm sounds as well as some super smooth lead tones.

If you keep in mind that the TS9 is an overdrive peal and not distortion pedal you will probably dig the sound of it as much as I did. It is always nice to have an overdrive pedal like this to fatten up your cleaner tones and give you some nice smooth lead tones too.
I compared this pedal to my TS808 and there are some very subtle differences. The TS9 seemed to be a bit more edgy and aggressive while the TS808 was a bit smoother and sweeter. If I was going to a rock gig I would probably grab the TS9 over the TS808.

Just like any of the other Ibanez pedals this one is pretty tough. I have not had any problems with the knobs, on/off button or jacks. I have hear that they put out a dud every now and then so you might want to test yours at the store before taking it home.

The TS9 is one of those pedals that will always be around and it will always be great sounding. I really recommend this pedal if you are in need of or just want to add a quality overdrive pedal to your rig. If you are looking for a super high gain pedal you might want to look elsewhere.
